Description The Role As Senior Sustainability Manager, you will be a senior member of a team of four individuals within Canopius’ central Sustainability team. You will support the team across its full range of activities, including disclosure and reporting as relevant. Within the team, you will have a specific focus on underwriting-related topics. This includes anything related to Canopius’ Responsible Underwriting Policy and Framework, as well as responsibility for driving product innovation (in close collaboration with Underwriting and Distribution). Key Responsibilities Working closely with Underwriting to drive forward the Responsible Underwriting Policy, Responsible Underwriting Framework and associated documents: ensuring they remain fit for purpose and are updated as required over time Collating, presenting and drawing insights from underwriting-related metrics across the business, including making comparisons with peers where feasible Working with Product Heads and Distribution to identify product opportunities for Canopius (drawing on research related to peer propositions as well as client needs) Liaising with brokers, MGAs and other third parties to help source concrete business opportunities for Canopius, in collaboration with Underwriting and Distribution functions Supporting on reporting and compliance with regulation, in particular where these touch on underwriting topics Supporting the team on ad-hoc tasks and projects which could be related to governance, investments, operations or employee engagement Skills A passion for sustainability and energy transition essential (Re)insurance knowledge and experience essential Ability to manage challenging stakeholders essential Underwriting background would be an advantage, as would an external network that could be leveraged for new business opportunities (e.g. with brokers, MGAs, etc) Project management experience helpful, with proven ability to deliver outcomes with limited need for oversight Collaborative working style and ability to be flexible in supporting team requirements
