My client is a fast-growing company focused on efficient procurement and supply chain management. They work closely with production, manufacturing, and facilities teams to ensure timely and cost-effective purchasing. Join our dynamic team and help drive operational excellence.
The Role:
They’re looking for an experienced Buyer to manage day-to-day procurement for our factory, from RFQ to order placement and delivery. You'll build strong supplier relationships, negotiate prices, and support the production team to ensure materials are available when needed.
This is a fantastic opportunity for a buyer ready to grow into more commercial responsibilities, such as contract negotiations and category management.
Key Responsibilities:
Supplier Relationship & Market Insights
* Build strong relationships with suppliers and negotiate competitive pricing.
* Conduct market research and competitor analysis to identify opportunities and risks.
Production Support
* Work with the Production and Engineering teams to meet production schedules.
* Manage RFQs, POs, and expedite orders.
* Monitor stock levels and coordinate with the Stores team on delivery schedules.
Quality Assurance
* Work with Quality and Supplier Development Engineers to resolve any supply issues.
* Proactively address risks impacting production.
What They’re Looking For:
Skills & Experience:
* A-levels or equivalent (numeracy & literacy).
* Experience in procurement, ideally in manufacturing.
* Strong analytical skills and proficiency in ERP/MRP systems.
* Basic understanding of contract law and logistics.
Bonus:
* CIPS qualification (or working towards).
* Degree or engineering background.
Personal Qualities:
* Positive, adaptable, and proactive approach to work.
* Excellent communication and negotiation skills.
* Strong attention to detail and ability to work under pressure.
