A Senior Care Assistant plays a crucial role in providing high-quality care and support to residents in care homes, nursing homes, or domiciliary care settings. They oversee care assistants, ensure the well-being of residents, and assist with personal care and medication administration while maintaining high standards of care.
Key Responsibilities:
? Supervising Care Staff:
* Leading and supporting a team of care assistants to deliver person-centered care.
* Providing guidance and training to junior staff members.
* Ensuring all care duties are completed efficiently and to a high standard.
? Personal Care & Support:
* Assisting residents with daily activities such as bathing, dressing, and toileting.
* Supporting mobility and encouraging independence wherever possible.
* Offering emotional and social support to residents.
? Medication Administration:
* Administering and managing prescribed medication in accordance with policies and guidelines.
* Keeping accurate records of medication distribution.
? Health & Safety Compliance:
* Ensuring infection control measures and health & safety regulations are followed.
