An exciting opportunity has arisen for motivated and enthusiastic candidates to develop the necessary skills to deliver software and applications support to staff across all Council services.
Based in Midlothian House (home/hybrid working available) as part of the Business Applications Team within Corporate Resources, you will provide support for staff utilising Council systems and applications as follows:
Post 1 : Education management system (SEEMiS), Parents Portal, National Entitlement Card Management System and Groupcall (Parental Comms System).
Post 2: Repairs and Maintenance systems, Waste Services system, Corporate Gazeteer, Leisure Management system and Vehicle Telematics.
You will support the implementation, operation and ongoing development of these systems/applications and associated business processes and deliver training to system users as required.
This role would suit ambitious individuals who would be interested in developing a career in the support of software/applications.

KNOWLEDGE
EDUCATIONAL/VOCATIONAL QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED
Essential:
Jobholders must be educated to SVQ level 3/ in a relevant subject such as HNC Information
Technology, Information Management, Business Information Systems, or evidence of
equivalent competency along with evidence of numeracy and literacy at Higher Grade.
EXPERIENCE REQUIRED
Essential:
Evidence of advanced MS Excel skills.
Evidence developed interpersonal skills to agree and implement changes in procedures.
An understanding of the relevant legislation associated with the retention of information.
Desirable:
Evidence of the ability to produce and manipulate data for a variety of uses using various
query and reporting tools.
Previous Systems Administration experience including the provision of helpdesk service to
colleagues and other stakeholders
Experience of the delivery of staff training.
Experience in the design and production of training/procedural/guidance documentation.

Please note that it is Midlothian Councils policy that successful applicants will be appointed to the first point on the salary scale.
Based on 36 hours over 52 weeks per year, the minimum actual salary for this position is £30,243.53 per annum.
Compliance with the mandatory Cabinet Office PSN (Public Sector Network) Code of Connection requires the Council to meet a baseline personal security standard.
