Job Overview
The SET CAMHS Crisis and Therapeutic Home Treatment team offer assessment and interventions to those young people presenting with mental deterioration or crisis presentations. As a service, we now work within the Thrive model and implement collaborative care plans with our community services and community SET CAMHS team to promote positive outcomes for vulnerable young people and their families.
Main Duties of the Job
In this post, you will be regarded as a senior member of the team and will lead in the oversight and management of clinical practice within your local area while also inputting into service development across Essex, Southend, and Thurrock. You will work closely alongside an operational senior practitioner for peer support and will feedback to management regularly via meetings and case discussions.
Detailed Job Description and Main Responsibilities
The office base for this post will be within the Mid/West Essex area (Chelmsford) but the service covers Essex wide, making use of agile working. The service provides the latest in evidence-based NICE compliant psychological interventions to children and young people with mental health difficulties and complex needs, and their families experiencing emotional wellbeing and mental health difficulties. As an integral member of the multi-disciplinary team you will:
* Have enthusiasm and drive to be part of a senior management team responsible for nurturing and developing the service.
* Work in conjunction with senior clinicians and managers to support the delivery of effective evidence-based therapeutic interventions.
* Provide specialist assessments where appropriate, which will be used to inform interventions.
* Be directly involved in delivering a range of therapeutic interventions, ensuring high quality, timely, and accessible service.
* Provide consultation and training to support both junior team members and external professionals.
* Provide supervision support and education to junior members of the team.
* Offer a short intervention to help the young person manage the crisis and support with transition.
Qualification Criteria
This post would be suitable for mental health nurses and social workers who possess relevant training and experience. We welcome applications from post-graduate qualified psychological practitioners with experience working with high-risk client groups.
Person Specification
Registration: To be eligible for registration as a full member of the appropriate professional body.
Experience: Experience of working with difficult, disturbed, or challenging children/young people requiring skilled and complex interventions.
