Job Profile:
Salary: £36,650 - £39,032, the band minimum is the normal starting pay for those new to a role. In exceptional circumstances, when relevant skills and experience can be identified, a higher starting salary may be considered.

British Antarctic Survey (BAS) is looking for an exceptional individual to join our Polar Operations Support Team (POST). BAS delivers and enables world-leading interdisciplinary research in the Polar Regions. You’ll be joining our Polar Operations Support Team.
You’ll help us to deliver the 25/26 season Antarctic Programme – including coordinating Antarctic Travel & assisting the facilitation of Pre-Deployment Training.
Within the role, there will be an opportunity to develop many skills, including line management skills & finance budgeting skills. You will also develop an in-depth understanding of the BAS Antarctic season and processes & work closely with the various Polar Operations teams.
Some of your main responsibilities will include:
* Managing and prioritizing POST Team task allocations to maintain the efficient running of the Polar Operations Support Team.
* Line management of POST Team members, to include support and development, task management, and resolution of any issues.
* Acting as a key communications point between the team and other departments within Polar Operations.
For the role of POST Manager, we are looking for somebody who has:
* Strong organisational ability
* Sound numeracy skills
* Ability to implement and follow policy & procedure
* Ability to assimilate information quickly and accurately
