Interim Building Control Surveyor
Location: London, hybrid 2 days on site
Length: 3 months (Possibility of extension)
IR35 Status: Inside
Key Responsibilities of the Interim Building Control Surveyor:
1. Review plans for a diverse range of construction projects
2. Conduct on-site inspections to ensure compliance with building regulations
3. Provide Building Control advice through various channels (phone, email, in person)
4. Inspect dangerous structures during regular working hours
5. Participate in the out-of-hours dangerous structures rota
6. Maintain accurate records of inspections and correspondence
7. Support the training of Trainee and Assistant Surveyors
8. Assist the Principal Surveyor and Head of Building Control with additional team duties
Key Skills required of the Interim Building Control Surveyor:
9. Degree in construction or equivalent qualification, preferably with a Band C Building Control Surveyor Registration (BSR) qualification
10. Full corporate membership status with a recognized professional body such as RICS, CABE, or CIOB
11. Minimum of seven years' experience in Building Control
12. Self-motivated with the ability to work independently
13. Eagerness to learn and develop both soft and technical skills
14. Strong team player with a sense of responsibility
