Job summary An exciting opportunity has arisen for Band 3 Health Care Assistants in the Medical Same Day Emergency Care Department at Worcestershire Royal Hospital. MSDEC is a fast paced, busy area with approximately 30 patients coming in and being discharged within the same working day. You will look after acutely unwell adults with the aim of reducing potential admissions. Patients are referred via their GP, Out of Hours or Pulled from the Emergency Department. The right individual for the role will be self-motivated, competent and pro-active with an ability to manage multiple patients at once and delegate where necessary. You must be competent in ECG recording, Venepuncture and Basic Observations. You will be working under the supervision of senior staff members, but the ability to recognise deteriorating patients and escalate is essential to this role. To mentor, supervise and teach Health Care Assistants. 3. To lead and co-ordinate a range of clinical and non-clinical tasks and responsibilities undertaken by Health Care Assistants. 4.
