Product Service Engineer - Electrification
Location: Peterborough (Hybrid) - Up to £43/hr - Inside IR35

Jonathan Lee Recruitment is helping one of the world’s leading manufacturers of off-highway machinery and diesel and natural gas engines find a Product Service Engineer, and the role comes with a contract rate of £43 per hour.
As the Product Support Engineer, you will be responsible for product support execution for new product development, market introduction, product health, and product improvement. This role will take direct ownership for a major product line within the E+ES offerings to ensure customer satisfaction and product quality objectives are being delivered.
Reporting into the Service and Commercial Development team, you will take the lead within the product support team to identify system or process improvement opportunities and initiate action to deliver solutions. You will be responsible for ongoing management of the product quality systems and processes to meet defined quality targets.
What you will do:
1. Support New Product Introduction readiness plans and strategies for new electrification and advanced power offerings.
2. Work across functional teams to identify, launch, support, and communicate Continuous Product Improvement projects to improve product performance.
3. Develop appropriate procedures and plans to ensure product quality and evaluate results to identify functional deficiencies, correcting design flaws as needed.
4. Evaluate production processes to identify defects in manufacturing and design, modifying designs to maximize production efficiency and product quality.
5. Solicit and gather internal and external feedback to identify potential new products and/or improvements to existing products that improve product serviceability.
6. Write technical specifications and instructions to ensure product quality and performance, tracking and managing the status of projects from inception to release.
7. Facilitate root cause investigations and corrective actions to minimize impact to our customers.
8. Conduct dealer and customer visits to provide support for new product introduction or assist with technical issues.

1. Electrification experience would be highly desirable or energy transfer.
2. Must have a product support background.
3. Root cause analysis, reviewing data, etc.
4. Demonstrable experience displaying mechanical aptitude and the ability to relay information to technical professionals.
5. Technical foundation – mechanical or electrical. Someone who understands the language.
6. Demonstrable experience working on complex projects with multiple stakeholders and business units.
7. Engages appropriate subject matter resources to effectively resolve technical issues.
8. Provides effective solutions to moderate technical challenges through strong technical competence, effectively examining implications of events and issues.
9. Data Gathering & Analysis: The ability to collect and synthesize data from a variety of stakeholders and sources in an objective manner to reach a conclusion, goal, or judgment.
10. Fosters strong customer relationships via delivery on commitments, open communication, and ongoing feedback/improvement.
11. Anticipates customer needs, focusing efforts to proactively meet needs and exceed customer expectations.
