This is an exciting new post in the Quality, Safety and Improvement directorate of the NHS Wales Executive. We work alongside NHS Wales Executive colleagues, Welsh Government and wider NHS to support the creation of the best quality health and care system for Wales so that everyone has access to safe, effective and efficient care in the right place and at the right time.
Main duties of the job
The postholder will manage a number of projects supporting national healthcare quality strategy including supporting implementation of the Duty of Quality and management of the Safe Care Partnership. They will work with the Business Lead to jointly lead strategic planning for the directorate. The postholder will also lead on intelligence gathering and horizon scanning for the directorate.

Qualifications
* Educated to relevant Masters Degree level e.g. Masters Degree in quality, strategy or equivalent level of experience and professional knowledge working at a senior management level.
* Evidence of continued professional development.
* Project/programme management qualification or equivalent experience in leading programmes/projects with demonstrable outcomes.
* Knowledge of research & feedback tools and techniques.
Experience
* Significant management experience in a senior role including staff management and project management, ideally within the NHS or Social Care.
* Expertise in supporting highly specialist change management within a quality context.
* Experience of process/problem analysis, challenging existing thinking and generating improvements and solutions.
* Experience of successfully leading and implementing project driven change management within a quality context.
* Experience of effective stakeholder working with external bodies.
* Experience of working with Welsh Government.
Skills
* Ability to communicate highly complex technical concepts and analysis effectively to different organisations and audiences; including formal presentations e.g. Board level.
* Demonstrate an ability to provide, receive and record both routine and highly complex communications, electronically, orally and written.
