An exciting opportunity has arisen for a highly motivated individual to join the Council’s Business Support Unit. The successful applicant will work as a member of a Business Support Hub, ensuring efficient, effective, and professional administrative support is provided to the teams in Children Services supporting the children and young people of Torfaen.
The role will be at the heart of Children Services, working with a range of colleagues both internal and external agencies. Candidates will be based within the Children & Family Hub and support the daily administrative functions associated with all aspects of Children Services.
You will be required to undertake a variety of tasks including word processing using Microsoft Office packages, minute taking, data entry work on various software systems (full training will be provided), finance and purchasing functions.
We are looking for team players who have the skills and experience to be able to work flexibly and prioritise and manage several tasks within a busy fast-paced office environment.

Qualifications / Experience:
Essential
1. NVQ Level 3 in Administration, Business, IT (or 6 months equivalent experience).
2. Experience of working with a range of information databases.
3. Good IT skills with the ability to use Microsoft Office.
4. Excellent communication skills.
5. Ability to produce accurate and timely minutes of meetings.
6. To observe confidentiality in all aspects of work.
7. Ability to travel around the borough in a timely manner.
Desirable
1. Relevant administrative experience.
