We are searching for an Environmental, Health and Safety Coordinator to join our Christchurch team In this role, you will assist in delivering a “zero harm” approach to our staff and our environmental impact. This will involve working with managers to ensure our EHS systems are continuously developed, implemented and promoted within the business. Undertake monitoring and reporting of the company utilities and identify ways to reduce cost and our environmental impact. Assist with sourcing, maintaining and deploying monitoring equipment. Assist with the daily administration of environmental, health and safety systems and procedures, ensuring compliance with legal requirements and company policies. Support the completion of risk assessments for various workplace activities, including identifying potential hazards and recommending control measures. Undertake air monitoring/quality testing. Participate in regular workplace inspections, “Health & Safety Walks” identifying environmental, health and safety concerns, and assisting in developing action plans for improvement. Respond to “don’t walk by” cards. Help organise and deliver safety training sessions for staff to raise awareness about environmental, health and safety practices and regulations. Assist with recording and investigating accidents and near-misses, helping to develop reports and suggest corrective actions to prevent recurrence. Help ensure that the organisation complies with all relevant environmental, health and safety legislation, including maintaining records and updating policies as needed. Assist with internal audits of environmental, health and safety practices, ensuring that the workplace meets the required safety standards. Help promote a culture of safety across the organisation by communicating safety messages, posting safety bulletins, and supporting safety campaigns. Attend relevant training and workshops to further knowledge of environmental, health and safety legislation, procedures, and best practices. Provide general administrative support to the Environmental, Health & Safety team as required including maintenance of training records, purchasing, occupational health surveillance visits and records and the EH&S folders complying with the company data protection requirements and undertake any other duties that may arise What You Bring: Be organised with the ability to plan your own workload Be methodical with attention to detail Have the ability to use initiative to solve practical problems and adapt to change Be an effective communicator through written and verbal means. Fully conversant in the use of Microsoft Office packages especially with the ability to organise and manipulate data, use formulae and statistics in Excel and working knowledge of SharePoint. 1 years commercial experience ideally with some exposure to an environment, health and safety related role GCSE Math’s, English and science minimum grade C or 5, ideally coupled with A levels in a business-related subject and science or HNC in applied science or similar.
