The Governing Body of Cwmaber Junior School seeks to appoint a Midday Supervisory Assistant to ensure the safety and wellbeing of pupils during lunchtime breaks, in accordance with the practices and procedures of the school. A reliable and professional person is required for this demanding but rewarding role within the school.
The midday supervisors are very much a part of the Cwmaber team and central to the school. The successful candidate will have a calm and positive manner with children and will assist in promoting positive behaviour.
The successful candidate will possess good communication skills and enjoy working with children. They will have a commitment to making lunchtimes a happy time and will be keen to engage pupils in play activities.
Duties include
• To supervise children during the lunch break
• To help children eating their school dinner or packed lunch
• To supervise children in the playground
• To supervise children in their classes during inclement weather
• To play games and undertake activities with the children
• To deal with minor accidents and injuries and administer some First Aid
• To manage children’s behaviour positively
• To maintain confidentiality
• To safeguard all pupils
The successful candidate’s working hours will be:
12:00-13:00 Monday to Friday, term-time only. MSA’s do not come in for INSET days.
