We are looking for a dedicated and compassionate Band 4 Macmillan Information Support Worker to join our team at the Tunbridge Wells Hospital Macmillan Hub. This is a 1-year fixed-term role and we are open to a secondment opportunity for internal applicants only.
In this role, you will collaborate closely with the Band 4 Information Support Worker based at the Macmillan Centre in Maidstone to provide essential support to patients and their families. You will also oversee volunteers at the Tunbridge Wells Hub, ensuring smooth and effective service delivery.

Main duties of the job
Although primarily based at Tunbridge Wells, you may occasionally be required to work across sites to cover staff shortages or sickness. We operate a Monday to Friday service but are open to flexible working patterns, as long as service needs are met.

Person Specification
Qualifications
* GCSE English Language and Mathematics (Grade A-C) or equivalent
* NVQ4 or NVQ3 plus additional training to diploma level equivalent, or equivalent through short courses
* Evidence of continued role development
* Willingness to undertake Macmillan learning and development courses
Experience/ Knowledge
* Relevant health or social care experience at Agenda for change Band 3 or equivalent
* Experience of multi-professional working
* Experience in the use of data entry and management
* Evidence of good communication skills both face to face and on the telephone
* Understanding of person centred care
* Understanding of Macmillan Cancer Support and its role across the UK
* Experience in coordinating a designated workload
* Awareness of Improving Outcomes: A Strategy for Cancer and other national cancer policies
* Knowledge of relevant cancer treatment, interventions and terminology
Skills
* Able to use own initiative
* Ability to communicate both verbally and non-verbally on a daily basis with people at all levels
* Good observation skills
* Ability to write reports and IT skills
