Job summary
We are seeking an experienced Accountant who is ACCA/ACA qualified (or equivalent) and has sound experience across several finance disciplines. This role will require an individual who is hands-on, efficient, and ready and willing to adapt to new challenges and circumstances. Key Elements and Responsibilities
· Preparation of period end GL account reconciliations
· Accounting and reporting of sponsored research agreements
· Preparation and processing of month end journals, accruals, and other adjustments as required
· Monthly payroll accounting including the preparation and posting of journal entries and payroll reconciliation
· Assisting with the completion of local annual audits and statutory reporting for European entities using the support of external consultants where applicable
· Preparation of monthly bank reconciliations
· Cashflow management – monitoring cash flow, cashflow reporting, ensuring that use of cash is optimised. This includes the management of multiple currencies
· Assisting the group in analysing monthly results where required
· Taxation:
o P11d/ PSA – Assisting P11d and PSA reporting compliance and similar equivalent taxes in other European jurisdictions including preparation of data and liaising with external consultants
o Assisting with Short Term Business Visitor reporting
o R&D Tax Credits – assisting in the preparation of R&D tax credit claims working with external consultants and preparing provisions for the monthly accounts
o VAT reporting – assisting with submission of VAT reports for European VAT registrations and related reports such as EC Sales and Intrastat
o Other taxes – assist in ensuring compliance with other taxes
· Financial Control:
o Assisting where required in the design, implementation and maintenance of financial SOP’s
o Assisting with the periodic external audits and reviews and liaising with external auditors
o Assisting with the preparation of data and reports as and when required by the business
Requirements
Required knowledge
· Strong relevant financial experience including general ledger accounting and reporting
· Strong experience in processing payroll and related reporting in a European setting (P11d, PSA, STBV and EU equivalents)
· Strong experience of other taxes within a European setting Corporation tax, R&D tax credits
· Strong experience with accounting systems use SAP/Netsuite or similar accounting systems with ability to demonstrate a good understanding
· Strong Excel experience essential with the ability to demonstrate a clear understanding of lookup functions, pivot tables and similar functions/ reports with the ability to handle high volume data
· A Pharmaceutical or Biotech Background would be ideal with exposure to Research and Development accounting

Education
· A part or fully qualified ACCA/ACA accountant or similar
