This is an exciting new post as a team leader in Respiratory Medicine. The post holder will have a range of coordinating, administrative and staff management experience, ideally in a hospital environment, though other administration/PA experience will be considered. Working in a busy and sometimes demanding job, within a supportive team, they must have good team leader and team player qualities.
Main duties of the job
* The post holder will have a range of coordinating, administrative and staff management experience, ideally in a hospital environment, though other administration/PA experience will be considered. They must have good team leader and team player qualities.
* They will need to manage and prioritise their workload appropriately. The applicant should have excellent organisational and interpersonal skills and the ability to work well under pressure. An ability to use their initiative is essential. As the post deals with patients, relatives, and healthcare professionals on the phone, and occasionally face to face, applicants must have excellent communication skills and will be expected to have a courteous and efficient telephone manner. They need to have an excellent working knowledge of Microsoft Packages such as Word, Excel, and Outlook.
* The successful candidate will also be expected to oversee and coordinate the non-admitted Referral to Treatment (RTT), Partial Booking, On-Hold, and Inactive lists.

Person Specification
Qualifications and Training
* Educated to GCSE, grade C or above (or equivalent) in English Language and Maths
* Business and Administration Level 3 NVQ or equivalent experience
Knowledge and Experience
* Line Management Experience
* Clerical/administration experience including filing and/or reception
* Experience of dealing with the public, both on the telephone and in person
* Previous NHS experience
Skills and Abilities
* Excellent/professional telephone manner
* Flexible approach to duties
* Able to work under pressure and meet deadlines whilst maintaining a high standard of accuracy
* Good IT skills including Microsoft packages
* Confidence to handle difficult conversations with patients, relatives and carers
* Ability to work effectively in a busy team, adjust to change and motivate others
* Ability to work independently and as part of a team
