Job Description
We are seeking an enthusiastic Maintenance Engineer to join our client. The role involves working on autonomous and preventive maintenance programs, handling breakdowns, and supporting continuous improvement (C.I.) projects and refurbishments. Ensuring machine safety systems are appropriate for the environment and adhering to safe working practices is paramount.
Duties and Responsibilities:
* Collaborate with the team to achieve maximum productivity throughout the shift, liaising with the Shift Engineer to resolve problem areas.
* Deliver sustainable preventive maintenance and an efficient reactive breakdown service on operational equipment.
* Implement a program of preventive and autonomous maintenance.
* Respond to breakdowns as required by the shift team leader.
* Develop and maintain a proactive "can do" attitude towards all tasks.
* Complete all tasks according to relevant work procedures, ensuring efficiency and professionalism.
* Communicate all relevant information to engineering team leaders.
* Perform additional tasks to support the efficient running of the engineering environment.
* Maintain a safe and clean work area in accordance with site BRC and 6S standards, with a constant focus on health and safety requirements.
* Work independently and as part of a team in both planned and emergency breakdown situations.
* Always adhere to health and safety guidelines, company policies, and statutory provisions.
* Immediately alert management to any significant changes in business risks or internal control effectiveness.
* Report any breaches to management and/or Human Resources immediately.
Qualifications and Experience:
* Qualified in at least one core discipline (Electrical or Mechanical) with a strong understanding of the other.
* Experience in at least one core discipline (Electrical or Mechanical) with a strong understanding of the other.
* Experience with production equipment maintenance and refurbishment.
In return, our client are offering the following:
* £39,000 - £45,000 base salary
* Potential overtime to take you to around the £50,000 mark
