Transport Manager – 3 months FTC

The position of Transport Manager is a 3-month FTC to cover long-term sick and includes:
Hours: 40 hrs. per week 8am-5pm Mon–Fri
Holidays: 25 days plus bank holidays
Pension: The Company will make contributions of 7% of earnings into the scheme. In addition, for every 1% the employee contributes the Company will contribute a further 0.5% up to a maximum Company contribution of 10%

Based in Doncaster, the Transport Manager will plan and amend routes for several class II drivers, throughout South and West Yorkshire, Lincolnshire and the East Mids. You will coordinate supplies with customers and internal colleagues, responding quickly and efficiently to emergencies, breakdowns and accidents, identifying solutions and resolving operational problems.
This role is essential to ensuring vehicles are prepped, available and fit for purpose, serviced and repaired safely when needed and compliant with obligations for vehicle operations, health & safety and other legislation.
Communication is essential as well as excellent understanding of Driving Regulations, Working Time Directive and Agency Worker Regulations to ensure compliance and that action is taken when needed.
The Transport Manager will need:
The Transport operations qualification (CPC National/International or equivalent) as well as previous experience in managing transport/supply chain operations.
Strong communication and leadership skills and the ability to balance conflicting demands in a pressurised environment.
Good knowledge of transport regulations, IT skills, including MS Word and Excel.
Committed to support the length of contract, reliable and flexible, with a full UK Driving Licence.
