To continue with our growth plans for 2024 and beyond we are looking to strengthen our Solution Development team with a Solutions Engineer and Senior Solutions Engineer, working in our Pre-Contract department and based in the Midlands region for our Severn Trent framework. Reporting to the regional Pre-Contract Manager, you will work with multidisciplinary teams developing technical and commercial solutions to potable water, sewage treatment and bioresources projects, considering sustainability and carbon footprint of optimum and competitive solutions. As a Senior Solutions Engineer, you will be responsible for: Timely delivery of quality technical and commercial proposals (either competitively tendered or directly allocated projects) that address the client’s needs and are in accordance with the required quality assurance and internal governance requirements. Collaborating with clients to understand their project needs. Devising, obtaining buy-in and communication of project approach strategy. Identification of the project scope and coordination of the associated solutions with a multidisciplinary team. Project Management of Early Contractor Involvement contracts (ECI) under NEC4 conditions of contract. Identification, sourcing, control and communication of project information to enable the teams to develop and price the solutions required. Coordinating proposed solutions with our specialist Planning, Enabling, Construction and Commissioning teams, as well as ensuring that the proposals meet the required health, safety, sustainability, quality and environmental requirements. Supporting the development of project programmes for future Design and Build (D&B) contracts. Management of company risk associated with each tender and ECI. Management of external stakeholders associated with projects. About You Essential: Degree in an Engineering Discipline (Mechanical/Civil/Chemical/Environmental/Process) or equivalent qualifications; or Project Management qualifications. Experience in the tendering, design and/or delivery of water treatment, wastewater treatment or bioresources projects, sufficient to influence the design and buildability of a project, choice of materials and be able to contribute to optioneering. Experience in the processes, equipment and services that are used within the water industry. Experience in projects managed under NEC4 or other typical UK water industry conditions of contract. Excellent computer skills and a good understanding of Microsoft Office. Must be willing and able to travel frequently across the Severn Trent Water region Desirable: Membership of a professional institution. Experience in tendering or managing medium to large projects within the water industry (capital value >£10M), or batches of projects, or design only projects.
