Your new role
You will report directly to the Finance Manager and will be responsible for delivering on a varied workload including:
1. Preparation of account reconciliation and posting of associated journals
2. Assisting in the preparation of journal entries
3. Review of purchase transactions and posting of purchase daybook
4. Review of payments runs
5. Oversee administration of company credit cards
6. Processing of monthly employee expenses
7. Analysis of Monthly Flight Expenditure
8. Ensure subcontractor accounts are set up correctly including IR35 considerations, relevant taxes (CIS, RCT and WHT), insurance and contract documentation
9. Ensure all rates are agreed for labour only subcontractors across all locations
10. Prepare and process labour only subcontractor payments for weekly BACS payment runs
11. Prepare weekly headcount and labour costing reports to enable commercial review of invoices for European labour
12. Completion of weekly job costing
13. Assisting in the preparation of monthly management and year-end accounts
14. Submission of VAT/Intrastat returns to Revenue Commissioners & HMRC
15. Monitoring financial performance and identifying areas of concern or opportunities for growth
16. Supporting the preparation of annual budget and forecasts
17. Assisting in the development and implementation of accounting best practices
18. Ensuring the accuracy of financial records and reports
19. Any other duties deemed necessary by management
What you'll need to succeed
Part-Qualified/ Fully Qualified Accountant - ACA, CIMA or equivalent.
Minimum 2 years' experience in an accounting role.
The ability to work within a fast-paced environment.
Strong IT skills and Microsoft Office, specifically Excel.
Accountancy experience within a construction or engineering company.
Experience with ROI/UK payroll.
Knowledge of cross-border VAT.
Experience in the use of Power BI.
