The Role
The Payroll team supports our colleagues across the business by ensuring their pay is processed seamlessly. Our aim is to deliver a first-class service so our colleagues can keep doing what they do best!
The Payroll Executive role is integral to making this happen. You will be responsible for overseeing payroll for some of our 30,000 colleagues, working with the payroll associates to meet key deadlines, and to make sure payroll is delivered right first time and in the right way.
You will be a key player in supporting the team and the wider business. You will be responsible for processing payrolls and peer reviewing the payroll processing of other team members. You will be able to break down processes and complex queries in a way that is understandable for the team and for our colleagues across the business. Putting the colleague first is at the heart of what we do.
Key Duties/Responsibilities:
1. Overseeing the completion of payrolls that are part of a payroll service for 30,000 colleagues over 26 monthly payrolls, including 5 Offshore payrolls and 4 ROI payrolls.
2. Investigating and resolving complex queries from our colleagues across the business.
3. Supporting and training team members on payroll processes and colleague queries.
4. Ensuring that payroll is processed right first time and in the right way, in line with internal policies and legislative requirements.
5. Measuring the success of the team, looking for ways to continuously improve our processes and accuracy, and with the support of management, putting these changes into place.
6. Supporting key stakeholders and departments across the business and cascading data and reports as required.
Desirable skills:
1. Experience of working with Dayforce payroll software.
2. Experience of training colleagues on new skills and processes.
3. Expert Excel skills.
4. Exposure and experience of continuously improving processes.
5. CIPP or similar accredited.
Essential skills:
1. Previous experience of working with complex and high-volume payrolls.
2. A good to excellent understanding of tax and NI rules and able to calculate advances, arrears, and additional payment values.
3. Awareness of the administration of HMRC remittances, court orders, and employee benefits like pensions and healthcare.
4. A desire to learn and continuously improve.
5. A keen eye for detail and accuracy.
6. Being able to keep our colleagues at the centre of all you do.
7. Able to organise your time to meet key deadlines both by yourself and as part of the team.
8. Excellent communication skills to be able to break down pay queries to make it understandable for our colleagues and your team members.
