We support adults with learning and physical disabilities who have complex health and communication needs 24 hours a day in their own homes. There are 5 different locations throughout North and South Lanarkshire Airdrie, Blantyre, Hamilton, Motherwell and Rutherglen. About The Role Y ou will be required to cover 3-4 support shifts per week within the Blantyre service with a shift pattern combining of early and late shifts and waken nights on a rota-based system. The remaining days you will be office based in Hamilton. Your office days will include visits to services to complete practice observations with staff, guide and support staff, and quality checks including finance, medication and support planning. You will take part in service audits and assist with day-to-day management tasks. These tasks are also a requirement on your support shift days. You will receive regular supervision and attend and chair team meetings. You will also have peer support from development groups within the organisation as well as an extensive package of staff training to support you within your role., You will work alongside the Registered Manager and Supervise a staff team of Support Practitioners within the Blantyre service. The larger service has another two Supervisors and a team of Support Practitioners. You will work closely with and have peer support from the other two Supervisors. A regular presence in services is essential to support and develop the staff team and ensure that each individual is being supported to meet their outcomes. The people we support have complex needs and Support Practitioners need guidance and clear leadership to ensure they are able to provide the highest quality of support., This is a driver essential role and you will hold a UK manual driving licence. Each individual has their own vehicle which you will be expected to drive. We are looking for motivated and confident individuals' who will work in a person centred way to ensure consistent support for each individual. The individuals we support do not communicate through speech therefore you will be required to work hard to develop and understand how each person communicates and respect their need for routine. Individuals have complex health needs and they each have a full support plan in place. You will receive full and ongoing training in understanding the people you will be supporting. Personal care and administration of medication is also part of the role. Each individual has their own unique interests which include football, music sessions and concerts, rebound, bowling, cinema and more. We will require you to support individuals in their chosen activities and help them develop new activities and relationships where possible. You will be responsible for reviewing people's support and organising and chairing formal reviews, working closely with families who are very involved. Your role will be to ensure that person centred support is provided and the appropriate systems are in place and audited to support the staff teams to deliver them. You will be responsible for admin tasks and financial management including people we support's finances, rotas, budgeting and reporting. You will have direct management responsibility for Support Practitioners, including supervisions, appraisals and supporting them with their learning and development. The successful candidate will hold an SVQ3 in Health and Social care, have good time management skills and a flexible approach to the working week.
