Playworker
Our school is looking for an enthusiastic and well-organised playworker to work at our popular Before and After school Club. You will need to be passionate about providing stimulating, age-related play opportunities for our children and be able to work within a team before and after school hours.
Person Specification:
Essential skills/qualities:
1. Experience working with children
2. A positive, creative attitude towards children
3. An understanding of child protection and safeguarding
4. An awareness of basic health and safety issues
Desirable skills / qualities:
1. Experience of working in a play setting with children aged 4-11
2. Playwork or equivalent qualification level 2 or above
3. Paediatric First Aid Qualification
4. Food hygiene level 2
5. Arts/creative skills
We can offer a supportive working environment and an enthusiastic team. You will need to have the ability to work under direction and on your own to provide general supervisory support and be a good role model for our pupils.
Previous experience is not essential, but the successful applicant must be prepared to undertake suitable training as required, be able to think on their feet and interact well with children.
Grade: Grade 2 (pt 3) £24,027 pa pro rata
Hours: 7.45-8.50am and 3-6pm 5 days per week (term time only)
Please note that days may be negotiable for the right person. There is also the option to combine this role with the Midday Supervisor role that we are advertising. Over time there may also be other opportunities to work in other roles across the school.
