Are you an experienced H&S professional with prior exposure to large scale civils and utilities projects and looking for a fresh opportunity?
We have an exciting new opportunity with our client, a well-established utility services provider with national coverage.
They are looking for an experienced and ambitious H&S professional to work within their gas division, working on a range of projects as well as being able to support on other utilities divisions.
Key duties:
1. Support the planning and promotion of health, safety, environment and quality programs.
2. Engage and communicate with all operational staff on HSEQ matters.
3. Monitor health, safety, environment and quality performance on contracts and take necessary steps to improve standards.
4. Carry out regular and continuous site, compound and CDM audits, which may involve occasional out of hours working, including weekends and nights.
5. Ensure CDM sites are compliant with relevant documentation in place and up to date.
6. Support in compiling, reviewing and revising project SHEQ documentation, which can include CPPs, QMPs, Risk Registers, Method Statements, Risk Assessments, and Emergency Plans.
7. Ensure site notice boards are current and erected in appropriate places.
8. Assist in the preparation of pre-qualification questionnaires (PQQs) and tender documentation.
9. Investigate accidents, incidents, utility damages, and introduce preventative measures to prevent re-occurrence, compiling required reports in a timely manner for the SHEQ Manager and/or SHEQ Director.
10. Ensure all levels of staff under your influence have appropriate training in health, safety, quality, and environmental matters, assisting managers to identify any training gaps.
11. Ensure strict adherence to reporting and recording procedures for accidents and dangerous occurrences as required under RIDDOR.
12. Provide specialist advice on the company's safety policy and procedures and compliance with statutory obligations throughout the company.
13. Recommend disciplinary procedures where any operational staff fail to discharge their responsibilities regarding Health, Safety, Environment, and Quality.
The ideal candidate will have:
1. Previous experience working within utilities environments, preferably within the gas industry.
2. NEBOSH/NCRQ Level 6 (NVQ Level 5 as a minimum standard).
3. EUSR or CSCS in a related subject.
4. NRSWA (SWQR).
5. Working knowledge of HSG47.
6. Proficient in Accident/Incident investigation & RCA.
7. Proficient in data analysis & compiling Reports.
8. Competent in core standard Microsoft Software.
