Job summary This is an exciting opportunity for a Specialist MSK Physiotherapist, Band 6 to support the MSK Outpatient Service within Wrightington, Wigan and Leigh Teaching Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust. The rare opportunity to work at an Orthopaedic and MusculoskeletalCentre of Excellence within Wrightington Hospital Outpatient Therapies Department as a Static Senior MSK Physiotherapist. As part of the established MSK team you will provide expert clinical intervention for these patients whilst supporting colleagues within the Physiotherapy team.You will require postgraduate experience, including specialist experience in Musculoskeletal disorders. Main duties of the job To undertake reasoned physiotherapeutic assessment of patients with a range of musculoskeletal dysfunctions. To provide appropriate specialised physiotherapy treatment based on a sound knowledge of evidence based practice, using a range of manual, rehab and electrotherapy techniques, and formulation of individualised home management programmes. To evaluate physiotherapy intervention and respond appropriately to findings. To work autonomously without the direct supervision of physiotherapy colleagues within scope of practice and refer to peers and senior colleagues when appropriate. To ensure a high standard of clinical care for the patients under your management. To provide spontaneous and planned advice, teaching and instruction to relatives, carers and other professionals, to promote understanding of the aims of physiotherapy and to ensure a consistent approach to patient care.
