An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Band 3 Team Administrator to join the fantastic team in the Harbour, Hospital, Blackpool.
You will have a caring and flexible approach to meet service requirements and will work well both in a team and independently. We are seeking an enthusiastic individual who is able to take on new challenges and provide the best possible service to clinicians, nurses and families alike.
The purpose of this role is to provide an efficient and high standard of administrative service to the ward; to ensure that a welcoming and professional greeting service is provided to patients and visitors; to ensure the smooth running of the admission and discharge process for patients on the ward and to ensure accurate and timely completion of data recording.
The post holder will be required to work flexibly in response to the needs of the networks administrative service providing cover on various sites as directed by their Line Manager to ensure continuity of a quality service provision.
Due to the nature of the role we can only accept applications from those age 18+.
Working Pattern (Hours): Full Time
Hours/ Sessions per week: 37.5 Hours per week
• Act as a first point of contact for patients, relatives and visiting staff, welcoming them to the ward and dealing with any queries regarding admission, discharge, visiting times.
• To demonstrate good communication skills when dealing with patients, families, multidisciplinary teams, other departments and hospitals and community health professionals.
• Answering the telephone in a professional and welcoming manner, responding to enquiries where possible and escalating appropriate enquiries to the nursing or medical team.
• Contacting the ward for visitors and non-ward staff as appropriate.
• Liaise with other departments/hospitals to obtain medical records. Filing investigation reports into patient file.
• To use a professional approach and demonstrating tact, diplomacy, persuasive skills and empathy - referring on to ward manager/co-ordinator where appropriate.
• Regularly check emails throughout the working day.
• Order staff uniforms as and when required through eProcurement.
• Attend Ward Governance Meetings and minute as well as other meetings when required.
• Regular staff filing is kept up to date daily.
• Input Supervisions and Appraisals.

• Complete any adhoc jobs requested by the Ward Manager / Deputy, in line with the needs of the service.
• Ensure bank shifts on Healthroster / Safe care are approved daily.
• Ensure all asset logs are completed for Ward and Admin Office.
• Ensure all demographics are up to date on RiO.
• Ensure all 132 Rights are updated on Nerve centre daily.
