Exciting Opportunity for a Special Needs Teacher in Newham
Are you a dedicated SEN Teacher looking to make a real difference in a supportive and inclusive school environment? We are seeking an experienced and passionate Special Needs Teacher to join our secondary school in Newham, working with students aged 11-16 who have autism to start in January.
Although this job will start of as an agency position, there will be an oppurtunity to apply for the permanent post within the first half term.
About the Role
This fantastic role is based teaching Key Stage 3 & 4 pupils with a focus on creating engaging, tailored lessons. Whether you’re an experienced Primary or Secondary teacher with QTS, or have SEND Teaching experience as an unqualified teacher, we’d love to hear from you!
In this role, you will:
* Deliver creative and fun lessons that cater to individual learning needs and maximise pupils’ achievements.
* Work closely with a team of experienced Teaching Assistants and Teachers, ensuring a positive and inclusive learning environment.
* Adapt lessons to support pupils with autism, while managing occasional challenging behaviour with confidence and care.
* Plan and deliver activities that inspire, including sensory play, life skills, and hands-on subjects like Art, Music, and PE.
* Provide regular feedback to parents, carers, and senior leaders, contributing to each student’s success and development.
