Procurement Manager
* Location: Swindon
* Job Type: Full-time, Hybrid (3 days on-site)
* Salary: £45K + Car Allowance + Bonus
Responsibilities:
* Rationalise and develop the supplier base, incorporating UK, European, and international sourcing strategies.
* Manage categories both tactically and strategically to optimise total value.
* Liaise with stakeholders to ensure procurement goals and targets are understood and achieved.
* Handle the end-to-end tender process (RFI/RFP), including stakeholder business requirements and relevant measurement criteria (KPIs and SLAs).
* Lead contract negotiations and manage relationships with suppliers during the contracting process.
* Support continuous improvement processes within the team and with stakeholders.
* Manage small to medium-sized projects and assist in negotiations for large and complex contracts.
* Participate in the regular contract review and renewal process.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
* Minimum 5 years of procurement experience with similar responsibilities.
* Strong commercial acumen with proven negotiation skills and analytical abilities.
* Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
* Ability to establish and influence strong working relationships at all levels.
* Experience in indirect category management for both Goods and Services.
* Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and Teams.
* Ability to work under pressure, prioritise effectively, and meet tight deadlines.
* Contract law and contract drafting experience preferred.
* CIPS qualifications are advantageous but not essential.
Senior Procurement Buyer
* Location: Swindon
* Job Type: Full-time, Hybrid (3 days on-site)
* Salary: £40K + Bonus
Responsibilities:
* Rationalise and develop the supplier base, incorporating UK, European, and International sourcing strategies.
* Plan and organise categories both tactically and strategically to optimise total value.
* Manage the end-to-end tender process (RFI/RFP) and support regular contract review processes.
* Lead small projects and contract negotiations/renewals.
* Support tender and negotiations for medium and large contracts.
* Deliver cost reduction, risk mitigation, and control of annual category spend across WHSmith.
* Provide commercial, contractual, and negotiation support to stakeholders throughout the business.
* Manage contractual relationships with suppliers during the contracting process.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
* Minimum of 3 years’ experience in a procurement role with similar responsibilities.
* Preferable experience in indirect category management.
* Strong commercial acumen with the ability to prioritise and operate under pressure to meet tight deadlines.
* Proficient in analysis with a high level of attention to detail.
* Skilled in commercial contract negotiation and contract law.
* Excellent influencing skills at all levels, capable of establishing strong working relationships both internally and externally.
* Proficient in Microsoft Office tools including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Teams.
