We have a fantastic opening at Basildon Hospital. We are seeking to recruit a reliable and keen individual to work in our dynamic Pulmonary Physiology, Sleep and Ventilation Department situated in the Cardio-Thoracic Centre (CTC).
We require an enthusiastic person with excellent interpersonal skills who will enjoy working as part of a team and has the ability to remain calm under pressure. You must be keen to learn and be accurate in your work as you will play a key role in the innovative, prestigious department providing a wide range of diagnostic tests and be involved in the sleep and ventilation services.
The service includes a full range of investigations, diagnostics, and provides both sleep and ventilation therapies. You will manage your own daily workload under indirect supervision, performing basic diagnostics and dealing with sleep patients. Once competent, you will undertake professional development performing advanced investigations such as lung volumes and gas diffusion tests with the appropriate training.
Main duties of the job
You will assist the department and its team in performing basic diagnostic tests and provide assistance to other senior Clinical Physiologists and Physician Associates working within the Pulmonary Physiology, Sleep, and Ventilation Service.
Your main duties will include performing a range of basic investigations on patients from all areas of the hospital, including the critically ill. While on days not required for clinical duties, you will help with administrative tasks supporting the department's admin coordinator.
Your work will include performing a range of routine lung investigations on patients from all areas of the hospital, including the critically ill. Once signed competent, you will continue to progress in your career.

Person Specification
Qualifications
* A-Level in Respiratory or equivalent
Experience
* Previous experience of working in a hospital environment and/or with the general public.
* Past experience in healthcare.
* Background in Respiratory and/or Sleep Medicine.
Work Related Skills
* Knowledge of Respiratory & Sleep Medicine.
