The department has well-established multidisciplinary teams (MDTs) working alongside respiratory medicine, renal medicine, and the hand unit.There is a highly regarded undergraduate and postgraduate training program, offering ample opportunities for teaching involvement. A dedicated team of therapists and Clinical Nurse Specialists (CNS) provides strong support for consultants. Additionally, consultants are encouraged to develop their own specialist interests.The Rheumatology Department covers a wide range of diagnostic categories, including inflammatory arthritis, connective tissue disorders, metabolic bone diseases, and osteoarthritis. It is supported by registrars and Clinical Nurse Specialists, with access to specialized physiotherapy and occupational therapy services. The department is also responsible for assessing, following up, and monitoring patients.
