We currently have a fantastic opportunity available for a Planned Electrical Craftsperson (Electrical Maintenance Engineer) to join our team based in Redruth and St Austell. You will join us on a full-time, permanent basis, and in return, you will receive a competitive salary of £34,368 - £40,729 per annum You will also receive a guaranteed standby allowance, plus additional payments for call out and overtime opportunities. About the role: As the Planned Electrical Craftsperson you will take ownership of fault finding, repairing and maintaining South West Water (SWW) assets across a range of Waste Water company sites, treatment works and sewage pumping stations. To help ensure maximum asset availability and support the South West Water Vision by assisting to minimise risk to compliance and preventing pollutions. You will provide services to a high standard in a sustainable manner that meets the required internal and external customer service levels, whilst minimising risk to compliance and meeting quality requirements. What you'll be doing: Carry out planned maintenance on electrical equipment to the highest standard of workmanship including, but not limited to: Monitor, fault find, maintain and repair a wide variety of equipment on Wastewater Treatment sites, including: pumps, panels, motors, switchgear and specialist treatment process machinery. Apply first level maintenance activities to all onsite assets. Electrical control system repairs Using Breathing Apparatus and working in confined spaces and/or at height if required Development of new skills such as installing and maintaining electrical equipment in potentially explosive atmospheres. Work with other disciplines in a workshop/mobile team. An understanding of health and safety and be able to work in a considered manner that keeps you and those around you safe. To maintain training and competencies in-line with job requirements including participation in the ME competency framework. The job includes responsibility for: Providing recommended / detailed specification of parts for ordering of stock replacements and parts needed to undertake repairs. Installation of new electrical equipment in line with BS7671 Undertake any training required to carry out work activities in a safe or legal manner. Carrying out work activities as scheduled Assisting Operational staff with the resolution of complex problems. Keeping our internal customers updated with activities which may impact on their processes. Using, or if necessary, requesting method statements and safe systems of work for the activities you carry out. Acting as the duty electrical craft Person on a standby/call-out rota basis. What we are looking for: Essentials 5 GCSE’s (or equivalent) including Maths, English, and Science at grade C or above.
