Job Description Summary: Aims to deliver the highest quality customer-driven software whilst continually challenging, motivating, mentoring, and supporting their engineering teams. They will work in cross-disciplinary teams delivering exciting customer-driven solutions and high-quality software and showcase excellent interpersonal and communication skills whilst efficiently working across the project life cycle to ensure software operates as intended. This is a leadership-level role and will blend both deep domain and technical expertise within a feature team and great passion for coaching and developing people in a “player-coach” model.

Working Pattern: Our work style is hybrid, which involves spending at least two days per week, or 40% of your time, on site in our Bristol office.
About this Opportunity: A great opportunity has arisen within the Digital Cyber Security Enhance feature team to help ensure our services are protected, network traffic flow is optimized, and we continue on with our transformation of our processes and products. We’re looking for a self-motivated engineer, with experience in development best practices. Our Akamai Automation Toolset utilizes Java, Python, Bash, and JavaScript to deliver infrastructure as code and/or leverage APIs to deliver end-to-end products for our platforms. You’ll have the opportunity to help drive a great engineering culture, build great code, develop wider skills to develop end-to-end products for platforms, and be a member of a wider engineering community passionate about sharing knowledge and learning.
What You’ll Need:
As a minimum to be considered, we would like to see experience in:
* Code using scripting technologies (Python, Bash, etc.)
* Code using backend technologies (Java or other OO language)
* Source code repositories (Git, GitHub, GitLab)
* Kubernetes and containerization
Any experience of the following would be nice to have:
* Professional working knowledge in networking protocols and approaches.
* Continuous integration pipeline and test automation
* Using cloud platforms and technologies (AWS, GCP, Azure, etc.)
* Kubernetes and containerization
* Relational (SQL) DB and document (No-SQL) DB
* Code using front-end technologies (JavaScript)
* An interest in cyber security and/or automation
* Understanding of Maven
* Exposure to Go
