We have an exciting opportunity for a Healthcare Assistant to join the Primary Care team at Gatwick Immigration Removal Centre (IRC).
This is a crucial role within the healthcare team, making a real difference to patients and delivering outstanding care. Gatwick IRC is a detention centre based on the grounds of Gatwick Airport.

Hours: This is a full-time role, with healthcare being offered 24/7 to patients. Shifts are 07:00 - 19:30 and 19:00 - 07:30. The role involves working nights and weekends on a rota basis.
Salary: You will receive an annual salary of £30,684 per annum.

Main duties of the job
As our new Healthcare Assistant, your responsibilities will vary. Some of your duties will include:
* Support the full patient journey, from entry to discharge
* Support the nursing and pharmacy teams within primary care health centres, as well as on wings and blocks
* Provide outstanding quality-based care to all patients
* Deliver personalised, non-judgemental care based on patient feedback
* Contribute to and implement care packages, assist with health promotion, wellbeing and clinics

Person Specification
Our new Healthcare Assistant will:
* Hold a NVQ Level 2 or 3 qualification in Health & Social Care, or equivalent
* Have a non-judgemental and compassionate approach
* Ideally, you will be a driver with access to a vehicle due to the location of the prison
