We are seeking a thorough Maintenance Technician with a practical mind and attention to detail who will oversee the upkeep of our facilities and ensure the continued stability of our operations. The ideal candidate will be able to work autonomously and responsibly by observing all health and safety guidelines.
Key Attributes:
1. Mechanical/Electrical based apprenticeship or equivalent qualification.
2. 6+ years’ Maintenance Technician experience (electrical) preferably in a manufacturing environment.
3. Leadership skills or previous supervisory experience an advantage.
4. Experience with PLC systems or completed PLC Training an advantage.
5. Decisive & Ability to make decisions quickly and effectively to meet deadlines.
6. Excellent numeric and analytical skills.
7. Highly motivated with proven ability to work on own initiative.
8. Ability to multitask and focused on setting high standards.
9. Team player who will work with others and individually to achieve company goals.
10. Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to quickly identifying practical solutions.
Key Tasks and Duties:
1. Work within the ethos and standards of the company.
2. Troubleshoot and repair of all factory equipment - electrical, electronic, pneumatic, mechanical and PLC.
3. Identify the root causes of problems and suggest process improvements for long term solutions.
4. Ensure production efficiency is maximized and return production to full capacity promptly.
5. Ensure that all breakdowns are recorded in our SAP CMMS system.
6. Carry out Preventative Maintenance work as required by PM schedules and actively improve PMs to prevent issues from re-occurring.
7. Maintain systems in place for spare parts stock and ensure system is being correctly utilized, also advise and source spare parts for team when required.
8. Must be able to dismantle, adjust, modify, improve and assemble factory equipment according to layout plans, blueprints, operating/repair manuals, or drawings.
9. Take an active part in all machine installations, continuous improvements and maintenance projects.
10. Work with Maintenance Supervisor to address causes of downtime and suggest process improvements.
11. Responsible as part of a bigger team for ensuring that all production & maintenance KPI’s are achieved.
12. Responsible for ensuring a safe, clean working environment and carrying work in a safe manner ensuring safety standards are met.
13. Liaise with relevant departments were necessary to assist in the smooth day to day running of the organization.
14. Undertake any other tasks appropriate to the position, as requested by management.
15. Undertake training as and when required i.e. MEWP, Forklift, Abrasive Wheel, Confined Spaces, First Aiders, PFPE, Manual Handling, Fire Extinguisher, etc.
16. Provide cover for the Maintenance Supervisor when required. Liaising with contractors & planning work etc.
17. Flexible working hours to meet production or maintenance deadlines.
18. Work shift rotation which may include working night shifts if and when required.
19. Make yourself available for overtime as and when required.
20. Complete advanced training i.e. IOSH, Duty Holder, ERT (Marshal or Warden) etc.
21. Complete internal Maintenance Technician – Grade 3 induction training.
22. Actively participate in Continuous Improvement projects & Capex Projects.
23. Advise & Guide MT2's & Apprentices in problem solving & development.
