Working across a broad array of infrastructure and systems in support of the ports operations, this is an important role with plenty of opportunity for personal and professional growth. The roles key responsibilities include: Managing development & demolition projects across the Port estate, including those associated with maritime activities. Strategic planning of marine infrastructure inspections and maintenance. Ensuring all projects are undertaken to correct legislative requirements, including with respect to electrical, asbestos, DSEAR and legionella regulations, Health and Safety at Work Act 1974 and CDM regs 2015 Ensuring projects are planned in accordance with the industry standard of project management and undertaken in the most cost-effective manner; conducting appropriate make/buy decisions to determine whether work should be outsourced or conducted in-house by building services/power systems personnel. Upholding the highest standards of Health & Safety and ensuring all contractors are properly briefed/permitted and maintain the highest of standards when engaged on Port. Ensuring all associated infrastructure risks for projects (operational/safety/legal) are registered and understood by the Company Operating Board, and mitigating actions are undertaken. Reporting environmental issues to Environmental Agency and the company environmental protection officer as required. Acting as a company internal quality auditor as required. A strong candidate will be able to demonstrate experience across the following: Hold a minimum of a Batchelors Degree in a recognised civil or maritime engineering discipline. Active member of a Professional Engineering Institution and willing to work towards Incorporated or Chartered Engineer. Digital Skills - good level of computer and mobile device literacy. Good communication skills. Experience or qualification in Project Management. UK Drivers Licence. Good level of understanding of Engineering Management Systems and Processes.
