Nano Fibre UK are looking for a Waste Management Coordinator for the Birmingham area.

We are looking for an enthusiastic and self-driven individual to take ownership of the function, ensuring compliance with waste regulations, optimising waste disposal processes, managing contractors, and driving sustainability and waste reduction initiatives across all sites.
Duties and Responsibilities:
* Act as the company's main point of contact for all waste-related matters across the UK.
* Develop, implement, and manage waste management strategies that align with environmental legislation and internal sustainability goals.
* Monitor waste disposal activities to ensure compliance with UK environmental regulations, including Duty of Care and Waste Hierarchy.
* Maintain accurate and auditable records of all waste transfers, consignment notes, and contractor documentation.
* Conduct regular site visits and audits to assess waste handling, segregation, and storage practices.
* Manage contracts and relationships with waste collection and disposal providers.
* Lead initiatives to reduce, reuse and recycle waste across the company.
* Prepare and present waste data reports, metrics, and improvement plans to senior management.
* Collaborate with site teams to improve awareness and performance in waste handling and environmental compliance.
* Ensure compliance with ISO 14001 (if applicable) and support audits where required.
* Provide training and guidance to staff on waste processes and environmental responsibilities.
Qualifications and Experience:
* Strong experience in waste management or environmental compliance, ideally in a national or multi-site capacity.
* Excellent knowledge of UK waste legislation (e.g. Environmental Protection Act, Hazardous Waste Regulations).
* Ability to manage contractors and hold suppliers to service level agreements.
* Comfortable working independently and travelling across the UK.
* Skilled in collecting and analysing waste data and producing clear reports.
* Strong administrative, planning, and problem-solving skills.
* Confident communicator with the ability to influence at all levels.
* Relevant environmental or waste management qualification (e.g. WAMITAB, CIWM membership, IOSH).
* Training in ISO 14001, Environmental Management Systems or similar (desirable)
* Full UK driving licence (essential).
