Job summary
We are seeking a Consultant in Nuclear Medicine / Radionuclide Imaging. This is a replacement post with principal responsibility to provide support for our Nuclear Medicine Department which is part of the University Hospital Sussex (UHSx) NHS FT Imaging Services. We are looking for an individual who is an outstanding clinician and this post is an opportunity to join a dynamic and committed consultant body working in the Trust. Additional sub-speciality interests will be considered.
Main duties of the job
The post holder will, together with consultant colleagues, be responsible for the provision of Nuclear Medicine services, including PET-CT, which are delivered through RSCH and PRH. Directing and supervising Nuclear Medicine studies including PET-CT, liaising with referring doctors both before and after studies, and assisting with the management of the department and in the timely and efficient provision of the service. The post will also include radionuclide treatment (if necessary after completion of therapy training) of thyroid disorders, but this may be expanded as appropriate e.g. bone and other targeted radionuclide treatments. The post holder will help develop the Nuclear Medicine service and keep colleagues informed of the potential of the speciality in diagnosis, management and therapy. The post holder will be required to participate in MDMs on a rotational basis ensuring the best use of the Consultants' skill set. During periods of leave/absence cover (including for MDMs) will be reciprocally provided by other consultants in the department. The post holder will be required to participate and develop clinical and organisational audit and to improve standards of the service whenever possible.

* Basic medical degree
* Full GMC Registration with a licence to practice
* CCT in Nuclear Medicine or Radionuclide radiology or equivalent (equivalence must be confirmed by GMC by date of AAC)
* Entry onto the GMC Specialist Register or eligibility for entry within 6 months of the date of the AAC
