What we are looking for We are looking for a Waste Management Officer to join our Waste, Recycling and Fleet Services Team. The successful person will share our values, commitment, and motivation to make a difference for our residents, clients, and communities. About the role The role is part of a team supporting the delivery of our varied Waste Services functions to all the homes and over 1600 businesses across the Babergh and Mid Suffolk districts. You will be working with our service partner Serco to: ensure a first-class service and customer experience are delivered to our residents and businesses resolve service issues and deal with complex customer queries manage the Environmental Permit of the site promote and plan Waste Reduction and Recycling campaigns including supporting and attending events About you Educated to NVQ level 4/degree level or with equivalent knowledge gained through experience, we are looking for someone who can demonstrate strong knowledge of the waste industry, including waste enforcement issues, and health and safety regulations. You will be: customer focussed with experience of providing a first-class service both internally and externally able to demonstrate effective communication and negotiation skills in order to negotiate with developers on issues of waste management and to assist with the production of waste policies, putting these into place once approved a great team player, confident and comfortable working with colleagues in other teams and service areas well organised with strong IT and analytical skills, you will show flexibility to adapt to changing service demands able to work around the district and transport will be provided for this A full clean driving licence is required and a COTC (Treatment and Transfer of Hazardous Waste) qualification is desirable.
