Capital Construction Manager
About the Role
Base Location: Melksham, Swindon or Oxford
Salary: £63,000 - £94,400 + car / car allowance + performance-related bonus + operational allowance + private medical + a range of benefits to support your finances, wellbeing and family.
Working Pattern: Permanent | Full Time
- SSEN are looking to recruit a Capital Construction Manager for the Ridgeway region - Melksham, Swindon and Oxford, to safely manage the execution of the refurbishment and replacement of overhead line, underground cable and asset infrastructure projects.
- Lead a large portfolio (greater than £100m) of projects across a geographical area in the SSEN Distribution area, managing project and contracting teams with the aim of providing safe delivery, on time in a consistent manner with effective financial, quality and risk management.
- Be responsible for the management of an integrated delivery team consisting of project and contract managers, craft skill and engineers for the development, refinement and delivery phases of all associated works contained within a portfolio.
- Provide strong customer focus and robust contract and commercial management through the management of internal and external delivery mechanisms, ensuring clear structure and points of interaction.
- Setting safety expectations and promoting a positive safety culture.
- Ensure that all resources, processes, systems and controls are in place to accurately report on projects.
What do I need?
To be considered for this role, we would love you to have:
- Knowledge and understanding of the UK regulated environment, particularly licence obligations and price control targets for electricity distribution.
- Broad understanding of commercial drivers for infrastructure projects with commercial experience in project Joint Venture agreements and relationships.
- People management skills and significant experience of leading and motivating large teams in a target driven environment that delivers projects and programmes.
- Project management expertise and understanding of project delivery e.g. project definition and set up, planning, cost, risk, quality and commercial management.
- Ability to lead and co-ordinate a number of project and contract managers in order to ensure the best possible commercial outcome and distribution of risk.
