What We’re Looking For
Education & Experience:
* A 1st or 2.1 degree (or PhD) in a numerate discipline from a reputable UK university.
* A strong academic foundation, including A grades at A level.
Technical Skills:
* Expertise in FPGA development using VHDL.
* Experience in PCB design and layout.
* Familiarity with embedded software development in C/C++.
Personal Attributes:
* Self-motivated, with the ability to work both independently and collaboratively.
* Excellent communication skills, with the ability to present complex ideas effectively.
Your Role
As a Hardware Engineer, you’ll:
* Simulate and implement signal/image processing algorithms in VHDL for FPGAs.
* Design PCBs featuring FPGAs, SoCs, high-speed network interfaces, and analog/RF signal filtering.
* Perform schematic capture using OrCAD and oversee PCB layout, fabrication, and assembly with subcontractors.
* Configure PCBs with test firmware and software.
* Develop Linux device drivers to enhance hardware functionality.
