Senior Quantity Surveyor - The Role
We are seeking a Senior Quantity Surveyor to manage prestigious water contracts from the Midlands offices. In this role, you will report to the Commercial Manager and be responsible for leading and developing a motivated and skilled commercial team. Your key duties will include managing risks and opportunities to optimise financial outcomes and providing strategic commercial advice to meet the business's objectives.
Senior Quantity Surveyor - Key Responsibilities
1. Team Leadership: Recruit, manage, and develop the regional commercial team to ensure a high standard of performance.
2. Financial Oversight: Drive commercial efficiency, ensuring compliance with policies and reviewing CVRs to eliminate errors before presentation.
3. Risk Management: Regularly update and manage risks and opportunities in line with reported CVRs.
4. Cash Management: Oversee cash collection processes, minimising bank overdrafts, and managing workload forecasts.
5. Project Management: Commercially manage high-risk projects, ensuring contracts are administered correctly and changes are made in a timely manner.
6. Support & Guidance: Provide ongoing support to the Commercial Manager and resolve any escalations or disputes effectively.
Senior Quantity Surveyor - Required Qualifications & Experience
1. Experience: A minimum of 5 years experience in Quantity Surveying or a similar role, ideally within a contracting background.
2. Skills: Strong understanding of NEC forms of contract, commercial acumen, risk management, and proficiency in MS Office, particularly MS Excel.
3. Attributes: Excellent planning, time management, negotiation, and problem-solving skills. High levels of literacy and numeracy are essential.
