Role Overview
The organisation is looking for a results-oriented and strategic Membership Strategic Account Manager to spearhead new business development, drive membership growth and retention, and uncover opportunities for expansion across various membership programmes. The individual will play a key role in promoting and selling memberships, training programmes, annual event tickets, and sponsorships, while implementing initiatives to maximise member satisfaction and long-term engagement. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in B2B sales, account management, and business development, with a passion for building lasting relationships and delivering value to clients.
Key Responsibilities:
Sales & Business Development:
* Develop and implement a strategic sales plan to attract new members and increase revenue through training programmes, events, and sponsorship opportunities.
* Identify and engage potential clients, building a pipeline of new business leads.
* Promote and sell a range of membership packages, training programmes, event tickets, and sponsorships.
* Meet and exceed revenue and sales performance targets.
Client & Member Relationship Management:
* Build and maintain strong relationships with key decision-makers to address their needs effectively.
* Drive member retention through engagement initiatives and maintain high levels of satisfaction.
* Travel to client sites as needed to foster engagement and retention.
* Act as the main point of contact for members, handling enquiries and providing support.
Market Intelligence, Strategy & Growth:
* Provide insights on industry trends, competitor activities, and membership dynamics to enhance strategy.
* Identify opportunities for growth by exploring new markets, partnerships, and service offerings.
* Collaborate with senior leadership to shape and implement long-term business development strategies.
* Propose innovative ways to enhance membership value and differentiate the organisation from competitors.
* Regularly track and report on sales performance and market developments to refine future strategies.
Brand Representation & Networking:
* Work closely with marketing and events teams to align sales strategies with broader organisational goals.
* Represent the organisation at industry events, networking opportunities, and conferences to build brand visibility and cultivate leads.
Skills & Experience Required:
* Proven success in B2B sales, account management, or business development, ideally within membership organisations, training services, or event sponsorship sales.
* Strong negotiation and communication skills with an ability to build and sustain professional relationships.
* Experience with CRM systems and sales reporting tools.
* Self-motivated, target-driven, and able to work independently or as part of a team.
* Excellent presentation and organisational abilities.
* Enthusiastic about networking and building professional connections.
* Industry knowledge and experience would be advantageous.
