Clinical Matron for Trauma Service

6-month Secondment Opportunity / Fixed term contract
An exciting opportunity has arisen for an enthusiastic, reliable individual to support the Peripheral Sites Care Group as Clinical Matron in Trauma based at RCH.
The successful individual will need to be a highly competent, visible, and an experienced leader, capable of functioning effectively and autonomously. They will use their expert knowledge and skills to develop safe, effective pathways of care, for all patients who access the Trauma service.
The successful individual will work closely with the Head of Nursing and General Manager to ensure the services run effectively, efficiently, and deliver best practice for all of our patients, with the clear vision to reduce health inequalities, improve outcomes, ensure safe care and provide on-going and sustainable support to all of our patients.This is a 6-month secondment opportunity or fixed term contract, full-time post, working 37.5 hours per week.

Thisrolewilltaketheleadonquality,safetyandpatientexperienceacrossthe specialty area: West Cornwall Hospital, St Michael’s Hospital, Marie Therese House, Trauma & Orthopaedics.Contributing to the Quality Improvement Plan as well as contributing to theCareGroupagendaandhavingaportfoliothatreflectsthisasdelegatedbytheHeadofNursing.The Clinical Matron will have responsibility for leading the RCHT Nursing, Midwifery and AlliedHealth Professionals vision for the specialty, ensuring effective implementation ofserviceobjectives withintheavailableresources.
Leadership will span four key areas: service leadership, people andpersonalleadership,quality leadershipandcollaborativeleadership.
To be able to resolve clinical issues quickly and effectively, to minimize any negative impact onthequalityofpatientcareandtomonitorthesafetywithintheirareasofresponsibilitybyreviewingand triangulating information derived from multiple metrics and advising the Care Group seniorleadershipteamwhenissuesareidentified.
Todeveloptheprofessionalpracticeofthenon-medicalclinicalworkforcewhilstworkingcloselywith the Learning and Development Department, enabling access to education and trainingprograms toensurethattheyarefittopracticeandhaveaccesstoCPD.
