We are seeking an experienced and strategic Head of Risk & Compliance to lead and develop Risk and Compliance functions. The Head of Risk and Compliance will be based in Leeds this is a permanent role working full time Monday to Friday working 2 days from the office.,
* Managing, preparing, presenting, and minuting the monthly UK B2B Local Risk Management Committee.
* Accountable for maintaining relationships and instrumental in leading commercial negotiations with insurers, insurance brokers and Credit Reference Agencies.
* Lead local point of contact and co-ordinator for control audits by external auditors and for all internal audits.
* Protect ENGIE B2B from Regulatory Risks by mobilising influencers (RAPA team and Retail Trade Associations) to amplify ENGIE UK B2B views. Communicate gather and consolidate views from Internal B2B executives and internal stakeholders to respond to industry consultations.
* Ensure relevant Industry Programmes, licence and code changes are implemented into business process working closely with Business Transformation Team and SMEs.
* Monitor internal processes to ensure compliance with retail regulatory requirements (Licence and Codes), co-ordinate and oversee timely submission of Regulatory Reporting submissions.
* Accountable for delivering adequate internal control through the INCOME framework, including overseeing the documentation and self-assessment of all key controls within the business, together with acting as the sole or joint Business Process Owner for a wide range of control activities.
* Full operational management responsibility for the UK B2B credit policy and associated risk processes required to manage retail sales activities with an annual turnover of £3bn.
Proven experience in a senior risk and compliance role, ideally within the energy, utilities, or related industries.
* Trading and risk management systems and associated applications
* Working in a regulatory compliance oversight capacity within a domestic supply environment
* Consumer protection laws and regulations including supply licence conditions including anti money laundering,
* Able to see the commercial consequences of decisions - thinks about and plans for positive commercial impact.
* Strong interpersonal and relationship-management skills, able to influence and persuade others and deliver success through others.
* Has the personal stature and capability to influence a broad range of people; including key decision makers.
* Able to manage conflicting and demanding priorities, with excellent organisational skills.
* Working in a Retail energy trading environment
* Commodities risk management, including power and gas.
* Considerable experience of credit management in a relevant working environment
