About the role
The role of HSE Manager includes:
1. The development, implementation and maintenance of the company’s Health, Safety & Environmental policies, processes, operational procedures, and standards
2. Ensuring best practice and championing a continually improving HSE culture within the business
3. Engaging and influencing key stakeholders both within and outside the business this role includes liaising with and reporting to external regulatory bodies
4. Ensuring high levels of compliance is maintained to employees, customers, and regulatory organisations. A sound working knowledge of Environmental and Health & Safety legislation
About the responsibilities
As HSE Manager, the key tasks include:
5. Being an exemplar to HSE processes and become a driver for best practice and improvement
6. Providing support to all areas of the business to eliminate, mitigate or reduce identified exposures whilst managing change within SHE at all levels of the business
7. Liaising with departments to ensure HSE requirements are maintained
8. Operational site & premises support, inspections, and auditing
9. Internal HSE audits are planned, and the schedule is maintained
10. Completion and auditing of risk assessments, as required
11. Employee communication, education, and training
12. Support and develop policies and procedures to effectively manage HSE risks and opportunities
13. Accident and incident investigation, analysis, and reporting
14. Coordinating accident and incident management follow-up processes
15. Compiling and updating all onsite documentation
16. Ensuring statutory and internal reporting is undertaken in a timely and accurate manner
You will also be accountable for:

About you
To be successful for the role of HSE Manager, you must have / be:
21. NEBOSH qualified in Health and Safety
22. IEMA qualified in Environment (or similar)
23. Lead auditor qualified (preferably across 14001 and 45001 standards)
24. Proven track record in similar managerial role
25. Management in a manufacturing environment
26. Proven track record of developing, implementing and maintaining an HSE management system
27. Up to date knowledge of ISO certification process
28. Experience of reporting and liaising with relevant stakeholders
29. Demonstrable evidence of driving and improving change
30. Leadership qualities
31. Problem solving ability
32. Excellent communication skills on all levels
33. Excellent organisational and planning abilities
34. Eye for detail and a result driven approach
35. Ability to work under pressure and to defined deadlines
36. Relationship building including managing and leading teams
