This post will be supporting Daffodil Family Centre and Jasmine Mothers Recovery.
Providing residential parenting assessments in cases where there are concerns about a parent’s capacity to keep a child safe. Trevi’s ambition is that whatever the outcome of the parenting assessment, the experience of the family will be one of transparent working, respectful practice and collaboration.
We are looking for an experienced and confident social worker to join the team across Trevi. You will be working with complex families who have suffered trauma and will be responsible for undertaking a parenting assessment within the timescales directed by the court/local authority.
This will include working directly with families, completing risk assessments, placement plans, providing Court evidence, providing educational activities and feedback to support the child's development and empower the parents to create change that is ‘safe enough parenting'.
We are looking for a candidate who has experience of working within statutory child protection services and is confident operating within the family court arena. You will be focused upon outcomes for children but able to work compassionately with parents too, many of whom may be fearful and distrustful of professionals.
We are looking for motivated women who are committed to working from a trauma informed perspective.
JOB PROFILE
* Flexible scheduled working hours, with the option to work from home when completing reports or assessments
* Enhance and maintain the high standards within Daffodil Family Centre and Jasmine Mother’s Recovery. Ensuring that service users are treated with dignity and respect and with regard for individual needs
* Contribute to the service improvement plan, OFSTED and CQC compliance, and impact quality assurance
* Complete viability assessments for Jasmine Mothers Recovery and Daffodil Family Centre
* Responsible for undertaking a parenting assessment within the timescales directed by the court/local authority
* Deliver focused, purposeful, time-sensitive Residential Parental Assessments with a child-centred approach
* Support with placement plans including; the completion of care plans, risk assessments, communicating with key professionals and completion of reports
* An understanding of family court proceedings, manage and monitor complex case reports and individual statements
* Providing educational activities and feedback to support the child's development and empower the parents to create change that is ‘safe enough parenting'
* To provide regular specific and targeted feedback to parents regarding their parenting and progress in placement
* To support parents to reflect upon their parenting and enhance their ability to see the world through the eyes of their child
* Continue to build working relationships with internal and external stakeholders including referring authorities
* Take responsibility for understanding and complying with statutory and legal requirements including (but not exclusively) all aspects of:
* 1. The Residential Family Centres Regulations (2002) amended 2013,
* 2. The Care Standards Act 2000 (Establishments and Agencies) (Miscellaneous Amendments) Regulations 2002,
* 3. Health & Safety Act 2005
* 4. Children Act 1989, 2004, 2022
* 5. Working Together to safeguard children 2023
* Work within the organisations’ policies and procedures and actively promote the equality, diversity and the rights of the people we support
* To model trauma informed practice with a person-centred approach
* Follow Safeguarding Policies and support Registered Managers to ensure all staff and beneficiaries are adhering to them
