Job Summary As a Warehouse Operative at Skyline Whitespace, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the smooth operation of our warehouse and the successful execution of exhibition stand builds. You will be responsible for managing inventory, preparing and packing materials, and assisting with logistics to support our exhibition projects. Your role will involve close collaboration with other team members to ensure that all components are ready and available for timely assembly and installation. Key Responsibilities: Receive, inspect, and organise materials and equipment required for exhibition stands. Maintain accurate records of stock levels and assist in reordering supplies as necessary. Prepare and pack components and materials for transport to various exhibition sites. Ensure that all items are properly labelled and packed securely to prevent damage during transit. Assist in coordinating the delivery and collection of materials between the warehouse and exhibition sites. Ensure timely and efficient dispatch of goods. Provide support during the assembly and disassembly of exhibition stands. This may involve handling tools and equipment, as well as following assembly instructions. Adhere to health and safety guidelines to ensure a safe working environment in the warehouse. Report any hazards or issues to management promptly. Maintain accurate records of inventory levels, materials used, and shipments. Assist in generating reports as needed for inventory management and project tracking. Inspect materials and components for defects or damage before packing and shipping. Additional Responsibilities: Process and fulfil orders based on project requirements and schedules. Conduct regular inventory audits to ensure accuracy and identify discrepancies. Keep the warehouse organised and clutter-free, ensuring materials are stored safely and efficiently. Receive and verify incoming shipments, ensuring accuracy against purchase orders and handling discrepancies. Complete and maintain shipping and receiving documentation, including delivery notes and packing lists. Operate warehouse machinery such as forklifts, pallet jacks, and hand trucks safely and efficiently. Regularly inspect the warehouse for safety hazards and ensure compliance with safety regulations. Handle the process of returning damaged or incorrect items, including restocking and documentation. Source and manage packing materials, ensuring they are adequate for protecting items during transit. Identify opportunities for improving warehouse processes and suggest enhancements to increase efficiency. Qualifications: Driving licence essential Education: Good spoken and written English. Experience: Warehouse and forklift experience required. Skills: Ability to track and manage stock levels accurately. Skill in inspecting and verifying materials to ensure quality and correctness. Proficiency in keeping the warehouse and materials well-organised for efficient operations. Capability to handle physically demanding tasks, including lifting, carrying, and standing for long periods. Experience in operating forklifts and other warehouse machinery safely. Ability to prioritise tasks effectively to meet deadlines and ensure timely project completion. Skill in identifying and addressing issues related to inventory, logistics, and materials. Strong verbal and written communication skills for interacting with team members, clients, and vendors. Understanding of basic technical aspects related to exhibition stand components and assembly. Knowledge of health and safety regulations and practices to maintain a safe working environment. Ability to accurately complete and maintain shipping and receiving paperwork. Equipment Utilisation: Efficiency of equipment usage, including forklifts and other machinery. Inventory Accuracy: Accuracy of inventory records compared to physical stock counts. Working Conditions: 08:30 – 17:00 hrs based in SW19 2QA Travel: This role may require occasional travel to event venues, and industry conferences. The role may require standing, walking, and lifting for extended periods, as well as occasionally handling heavy materials and equipment. The warehouse environment can be noisy, dusty, and subject to varying temperatures, depending on the season and ventilation. This position may involve working outside standard business hours, including evenings, weekends, or holidays, particularly during peak exhibition periods or urgent deadlines. The role can be high-pressure due to tight deadlines, logistical challenges, and the need to resolve issues quickly to meet client expectations.
