Opus Restructuring LLP is a leading provider of insolvency and restructuring services that is part of a larger advisory group, which focuses on providing financial service support to the business community. We specialise in offering comprehensive solutions to individuals and businesses across various sectors, including voluntary liquidations, company restructuring, and more. We are currently looking for a dedicated and detail-oriented Management Accountant to join our Finance Team.
About the Role
Based in our Milton Keynes office, we are seeking a dedicated and personable Management Accountant to oversee the day-to-day running of the finance function and to act as the primary point of contact for all internal finance queries. Working as part of a small team, the ideal candidate will be passionate about helping others and committed to delivering outstanding customer service.
Responsibilities
* Day-to-day line management responsibility for two Finance Assistants
* Initially assist with, but in the longer term take responsibility for production of monthly Management Information for the Board
* Production of individual P and L’s for each of our 14 offices
* Assist in the preparation and review of quarterly WIP forecasts
* Work closely with HR around pensions, monthly payroll, headcount budgeting and bonus payments
* Tax reconciliations, preparation of VAT returns and subsequent payments for both the company and the Group
* Support and oversight of accounts payable and receivable
* Bank reconciliations
* Prepare payment runs including salaries, PAYE, expenses and other ad hoc payments
Qualifications
Experience: You should have solid demonstrable experience in a similar role, ideally gained in a professional services setting. However, this industry experience is not essential.
Knowledge: You will be confident in the use of Xero and Excel. We have other internal systems which you will be required to learn, but full training will be given.
Communication and Organisation skills: You will be able to communicate well across all levels of the firm, via face-to-face, in person, and written communication. This is a very deadline-driven role and as such, you should be able to flex your style and plans to adapt to meet this on a monthly basis. Furthermore, you will need to be confident in your ability to prioritise and comfortable to ask for help if and when needed.
