Job Description Summary:
The post holder will collaborate with academic and professional staff to meet departmental and college requirements.
HR Management:
Maintain knowledge of HR policies and communicate them effectively.
Provide confidential HR guidance to senior staff.
Advise on HR procedures like recruitment, salary progression, training, performance management, and staff leave.
Manage recruitment, onboarding, and HR systems (e.g., TalentLink, MyHR).
Ensure compliance with visa regulations and guide international academics on UK relocation.
Support academic promotion and inclusivity initiatives.
Monitor probation, appraisals, contracts, and advise on Equality & Diversity.Finance Management:
Act as the main contact for departmental finance issues.
Assist in financial planning, budget management, and audits.
Provide financial reports to support decision-making.
Manage expense claims, credit card reconciliations, and scholarship payments.
Oversee purchase orders, invoices, and supplier transactions.General Responsibilities:
Respond to HR and Finance inquiries.
Act as an IT representative.
Support department events and cross-cover with the Professional Services team.
Comply with sustainability, health, and safety policies, and undertake relevant training.This role requires flexibility to support various HR, financial, and operational needs of the department.
