Essential Requirements
YOU MUST DEMONSTRATE THAT YOU MEET THESE REQUIREMENTS:
1. Qualified Solicitor or barrister with current practising certificate or equivalent qualification with ability to practice.
2. Experience and knowledge of Criminal Litigation/Prosecutions work in a local authority context.
3. Experience of criminal litigation.
4. Practical knowledge of public law.
5. Effective advocate.
6. Excellent communication skills, both written and oral.
7. Good drafting skills.
8. Ability to work as an effective part of a professional team to deliver complex issues.
9. Competent IT user.
10. Commitment to continuous service improvement.
11. Ability to work under pressure to tight timescales and to motivate others to deliver.
Desirable Requirements
YOU DO NOT HAVE TO MEET THESE REQUIREMENTS BUT IF YOU DO, PLEASE TELL US:
1. Post admission experience of practising litigation at the grade and level of responsibility of the post.
2. Knowledge and experience of local government.
3. Awareness of and sensitivity to the political aspirations of members.
4. Be willing to undertake further training.
5. Full valid driving licence.
